Welcome home

In most world airports a taxi queue means a line of taxis waiting to pick up clients. In Helsinki late at night it's the clients that queue. This being winter time, better bring warm clothes.

Panoramic park
There is a fantastic piece of freeware available called Autostitch. It does pretty much what the panoramic image software does that comes with digital cameras, except that it does it fully automatic and a whole lot better. Here is an example of our sunny stroll near where we live. Downside of shooting towards the sun is of course that the colors get adjusted differently on that frame, but I was too lazy to correct it.

Relaxed Amsterdam

Everybody gets a free pass to the public transport from the event organizers, but this doesn't mean that there would be more capacity to actually take people around. After 45 minutes of queueing, I finally squeezed into this tram along with a few other people. There wasn't anything to hold on to, but falling down was never a possibility either.

The emirates mall is the biggest and you can ski or snowboard in it. It´s not a petty bump either - there are ski lifts on smaller natural hills in Southern Finland.

Outside temp meter climbed to 45 centigrades, which, combined with the humidity is absolute killer. Like dropping into a hot tub with clothes on. We´ve been here for a vacation on November and it was hot then. This time of year it´s unbearable.

Sea skating
